The Dorrance Scholarship
provides financial access,
academic support, and
enrichment opportunities
to improve degree attainment.
This award supports local
high school students who will
study at an Arizona public
university. Each scholarship is
renewable for a total of four
years of funding.
Programming consists of
awarding scholarships;
bridging students from high school
to college; engaging them in various
activities to enrich their education,
including training in entrepreneurship
and studying abroad;
and fostering undergraduate
matriculation and admission to
graduate school and/or career
placement. The Dorrance Scholars
are first-generation college students
and, generally, have had limited
exposure to these experiences.
MORE THAN 80% OF DORRANCE SCHOLARS
COMPLETE THE PROGRAM; OF THEM, 98%
GRADUATE IN SIX YEARS OR LESS.
NATIONALLY, JUST 21% OF LOW-INCOME,
FIRST-GENERATION STUDENTS COMPLETE A
DEGREE IN SIX YEARS OR LESS.*
